The Position
- Involved in establishing and implementing Information Technology policies and procedures for the Branchburg site. Supervise daily operations and manage long-range department projects. Maintain global and regional systems according to IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. Manage ongoing technical enhancements to client group’s LAN/WAN, as well as other assigned systems. Local responsibility for streamlining the project portfolio and system landscape. Ensure compliance against regional and global rules in his/her location. Responsible for IT security matters of his/her site.
- Together with Business key stakeholders, responsible for defining the IT roadmap necessary to enable implementation of site’s business strategies as well as streamlining the project portfolio and system landscape. Work with Sr. Management at the site and Global business application owners to anticipate needs to establish changes in project portfolio.
- Work with head of F&S to Influence senior and executive management by changing thinking or gaining acceptance of new concepts or programs. Interface with other areas on implementation of these new concepts or programs.
- Participate in the planning process to ensure proper support processes are established and maintained with respect to customer responsiveness, prioritization, escalation, change control and compliance to the IT Service Level Agreement, adjusting or modifying processes as required. Act as interface and coordinate systems access with global and regional IT and other Roche (Diagnostics) sites to provide comprehensive customer service and strategic business solutions.
- Serve as IT expert with external resources and contacts at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects.
- Supervise and coach assigned staff, approve or make employment-related decisions (e.g. hiring, promotion, demotion, termination), address disciplinary issues, and appraise performance. Identify, analyze, and implement department needs for changes in staffing levels and services provided. Responsible to ensure that the local IT staff has the right skill levels. Support the development of the individual staff members according to an upon agreed development plan.
- Responsible for reliable and cost efficient local IT operations. Contribute to the preparation of the operating and capital budgets. Develop and manage operating budget(s) for area and ensure budget(s) are met.
- Participate in various global, regional or local project teams for the development and implementation of standard information technology solutions.
- Consult with senior management on extraordinary matters when applicable.

- BA/BS from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required. Post Graduate Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
- Vendor education certification (Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya, Oracle, others) preferred.
- Typically 9+ years of work experience with 5-6 years management experience required (7-8 preferred) in client server computing/voice-data-video communications, data center management, technical project management and implementation.
- Experience in supporting large scale SAP Manufacturing installations preferred.
- Project Management skills preferred; working experience in a multinational/global organization in healthcare (Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology) with emphasis on manufacturing operations.
