This is a remote position.
We are seeking an experienced ESRI ArcGIS Backend Expert with at least 10 years of hands-on experience working with ArcGIS's backend infrastructure, data models, and system architecture. This is a consulting role focused on guiding our team in migrating ArcGIS-related backend data to another catalogue system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise on ArcGIS backend architecture, including geodata bases, data storage, and API integrations.
- Lead the migration of ArcGIS-related backend data to a new catalogue system.
- Assist in integrating spatial data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency across different data layers.
- Offer guidance on data transformation, ETL processes, and schema mapping for ArcGIS-related datasets.
- Work closely with our technical team to troubleshoot migration challenges and optimize data structures.
- Ensure best practices for geospatial data management, versioning, and security.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience working with ESRI ArcGIS, with a strong focus on backend architecture and data management.
- In-depth knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS REST APIs.
- Experience with spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server with GIS, or Oracle Spatial).
- Proven experience in data migration and integration between ArcGIS and other catalogue or database systems.
- Ability to work with GIS data layers, spatial analysis, and metadata management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to guide a technical team through complex data transformations.
- Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions preferably AWS
- Familiarity with Python scripting for ArcPy and automation.
- Understanding of GIS data standards (OGC, FGDC, etc.).
