Role Highlights:The Helpdesk Technical Support Specialist’s main functions are to directly support the operational partners by troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, telephony and customer-related issues and by identifying areas in which the use of technology can be improved. The Helpdesk Technical Support Specialist will perform various IT-related functions such as installation and support of hardware and software, training, PC setup and deployment, creating work orders and tracking inventory.
Shaping Impact: Your Key Responsibilities:
Monitor, track and close incoming emails and phone calls from the Help Desk or the Operational Offices
Perform diagnosis for customer issues
Provide on-site training to employees
Setup and repair desktops/laptops
Assist and work to resolve all technical issues/questions impacting the network
Follow IT policy, process and procedures in resolving complex issues
Understand the business impact of each service call
Install, configure, upgrade, inventory, assign, monitor and maintain hardware allocation, including: desktops, laptops, networked printers, scanners, cell phones, etc.
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Windows operating systems
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Windows PC applications
Create and maintain interdepartmental relationships
Troubleshoot complex issues
Maintain knowledge on current industry trends
Move technology from one location to another
Add new components to existing systems
Make changes or adjustments to existing systems such as performing upgrades
Route all issues through the tracking system in order to provide all IT support staff constant summary of problems/issues
Perform other technology support duties as assigned
Your Unique Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in desktop support, IT concepts and hardware/software troubleshooting
Collaborative work style and sense of ownership
Demonstrate customer awareness and customer service skills
Written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to think and troubleshoot logically, and act decisively in critical situations
Physical Skills and Essential Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. -Dexterity to operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
Visual acuity to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Ability to lift and carry lightweight equipment and materials, typically up to 20 pounds.
Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
Flexibility to work in a standard office environment, which may include maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
