Your Day-to-Day Tech Adventures will Include:

  • System Architect's Sidekick: Partnering with our IT Systems Manager to maintain and optimize the City's computer network – think of it as keeping the city's digital highways open and clear.
  • Proactive Protector: Implementing routine system and network maintenance, diligently applying updates, patches, and security fixes to keep our data safe and sound.
  • Go-To Tech Guru: Being the essential backup technology expert for all our City's diverse tech needs, from hardware woes to software mysteries.
  • Security Evangelist: Assisting in building a strong cybersecurity posture, not just through system maintenance, but by empowering our staff with vital knowledge.
  • Compliance Interpreter: Ensuring our tech operations are always in line with federal, state, and local information technology policies – keeping us compliant and secure.
  • Departmental Collaborator: Working hand-in-hand with various City departments to understand their unique technology requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Resource Optimizer: Strategically allocating equipment and resources for technology projects, making sure every initiative has what it needs to succeed.
  • User Happiness Creator: Providing top-notch support to end-users, patiently answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and delivering effective IT solutions that make their work easier.
  • Knowledge Base Builder: Documenting ticket resolutions, system issues, and user interactions to create a valuable resource for future troubleshooting and learning.
  • Problem Solver Extraordinaire: Quickly identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving IT incidents, knowing when to escalate for critical issues.
  • Access Gatekeeper: Managing user accounts, permissions, and passwords with precision and care, maintaining robust network security.
  • Communication Connector: Helping maintain our VOIP phone system, setting up users, and ensuring seamless communication flows across the City.
  • Network Health Monitor: Keeping a close eye on network performance and proactively resolving any connectivity hiccups.
  • Hardware & Software Doctor: Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a wide range of hardware and software issues for our employees.
  • Upgrade Facilitator: Playing a key role in implementing exciting technology upgrades, such as new software deployments or system migrations.
  • Data Steward: Executing regular data backup processes and performing critical data restoration when needed.
  • Mobile Maestro: Assisting with the maintenance and troubleshooting of mobile devices, including phones and tablets.
  • Microsoft & VPN Maven: Providing specialized troubleshooting for Windows devices, Microsoft 365 products, networking, and VPN issues, keeping our remote workforce connected.
