Description

ChildServe has an opening for a full-time IT Network Administrator I that will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of all IoT and infrastructure systems that fall outside of standard workstation and server environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, systems integration, and troubleshooting across diverse technologies.

Schedule/Location

  • Generally standard business hours, M-F, and 24/7 accountability resulting in the need for flexible schedule as operational needs present
  • This onsite role will based out of our Johnston location

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Systems Administration: Administer and maintain connectivity and performance of IoT and infrastructure systems. Monitor network health and device uptime using appropriate tools and dashboards. Ensure secure and reliable connectivity and implementation for all supported devices. Interpret and follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Systems Maintenance: Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for system upgrades, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management. Maintain documentation for device configurations, network diagrams, and support procedures. Read and interpret technical documentation and schematics. Assist in planning and implementing infrastructure improvements and expansions.
  • Systems Support: Respond to incidents and service requests related to supported systems. Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response as needed. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Networking, Management of Information Systems, or similar fields. Experience may be substituted for formal education
  • Ability to travel to ChildServe's Iowa locations up to 50% of the time
  • Ability to become an approved driver and maintain a driving record that meets facility and insurance approval. Proof of personal automobile insurance is required.
  • Proficiency in: layer 2/3 connectivity, general network troubleshooting, network segmentation
  • Working Knowledge in: wireless controllers, NAC solutions, SNMP, syslog, and device telemetry
  • Familiarity with: VoIP (Teams) phones and mobile devices (Intune), temperature monitoring systems, printing environments, alarm system infrastructure, smart TVs and digital signage, overhead paging systems, HVAC control systems, UPS, PDU, and other rack mounted power delivery systems, door access control systems, security camera systems and NVRs, medical devices
  • Ability to treat information confidentially
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, be mobile, and occasionally bend, lift, reach, and stand
  • Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing and speaking the English language

Preferred Skills:

  • Two years of network administration experience
  • Current Networking certification (Network+, CCNA, CCENT, or other recognized network or security certifications). Certification may be required within one year of employment
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Security Standards 
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with IT standards and frameworks
