Systems Administrator Positions
PSCI-LIA, a fast-growing 8(a), SDVOSB, and woman-owned small business, is seeking a Senior UC4/Automic Application Engineer and Linux Systems Administrator for multiple high-profile projects. The role requires individuals with significant experience who also bring an entrepreneurial or startup mindset, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in fast-moving environments. Responsibilities:
  • Provide application administration support for Clemson's enterprise scheduling applications (UC4/Automic Operational Manager).
  • Develop and/or drive the development of monitoring solutions to assist with application administration support.
  • Create reporting solutions for analyzing job runs and batch environment performance.
  • Support triage of real-time production incidents and conduct root cause analysis of failed or problematic batch jobs.
  • Manage upgrades and migration efforts related to existing scheduled jobs.
  • Integrate UC4 with Linux, Windows, and Mainframe environments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with the Job Scheduling team to develop and provide training on job standards, methods, escalation processes, and diagnostic approaches.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery solutions for job scheduling to ensure high availability of the UC4/Automic application.
  • Develop, enhance, and support automation scripts using JCL, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, and Java.
  • Provide expertise in cross-platform scheduling tools such as Control-M and Autosys.
  • Manage patch levels and plan future product upgrades for UC4/Automic.
  • Document job scheduling policies and procedures.
  • Develop and update reports for application administrative and operational needs.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating schedule.
  • Perform Linux systems administration tasks as part of a shared team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field. A master's degree is desirable.
  • UC4/Automic certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in four major attributes: system administration, software development leadership, people skills, and domain knowledge in enterprise-class multi-tier application development projects.
  • 5–7 years of UC4/Automic experience in Linux and Windows environments
  • 5–7 years of supporting UC4/Automic applications with Oracle and SQL databases
  • 5–7 years of performing successful UC4 upgrades in production environments
  • 5–7 years of programming/scripting in JCL, PowerShell, Perl, and Java
  • 2+ years of experience with Control-M and Autosys scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of IT development and implementation projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to project management.
  • Strong proficiency in English
  • Impeccable integrity, with the confidence to make correct decisions and the courage to speak out when necessary.
  • Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and organizations continuously.
  • Experience in Red Hat-based environment is highly desirable
  • Experience programming with Bash is highly desirable
