Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification): 
  • Industry certifications in the following: Microsoft MCSE and Cisco CCNA
  • Completion of undergraduate core course work for degree in Computer Science, Systems Design or Systems Analysis
  • Two (2) years of IT Project Management
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in an organization including comprehensive experience with Network Operating System implementation and management (Microsoft), switches & routing, SAN/NAS, DR & Backup and virtualization
  • Two (2) years of accomplished network design and troubleshooting
  • Two (2) years experience with messaging/email
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise directories including Active Directory
  • On call 24 hours/7 days a week
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule and willing to work overtime
  • Required to carry a cell phone
 
Job Duties (Summary):
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment, and configuration(s).
  • Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualization using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilization, etc. using available network tools in a timely fashion.
  • Interface with third-party vendors as a liaison between client and vendor
  • Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment and services, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN.
  • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed.
  • Provide advice as needed with client purchases of hardware and software.
  • Create, request, and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment via quote procedure.
  • Complete all expected training and ensure that certifications are maintained as necessary.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Communicate escalated issues to the department head as necessary.
  • 3+ years of prior hands on IT experience.
  • Knowledge of IT applications, processes, software, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of Server Operating Systems.
  • Experience with and understanding of routers and firewalls.
  • Understanding the relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels, and connecting nodes to a network.
  • Understanding of DNS services.
  • Shows solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP and troubleshoot Internet connectivity.
  • Achieves and maintains multiple certifications at a high skill level. The following certifications are preferred:
  • MCSE – Microsoft server engineer – install, upgrade, administer Windows servers
  • Network+ - Gives good broad network understanding.
  • CCNA or CCNP -  These are general Network understanding and Specific focus on Cisco switches and routers.   All our HCPros switches are Cisco.
  • HP ASE – Strictly an HP Server hardware certification.
  • MD100 - Window Desktop Certification
