MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
MCNA or CCNA certification.
2-5 years in Network Administration experience.
Technical experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS,DHCP,VPN,VLAN)
Network Hardware (Extreme Networks, Fortinet, Infoblox) experience.
Operating systems (Windows Server, Linux); and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) experience.
Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor record review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Ensures the stability and integrity of voice, data, video and wireless network services.
Configures, monitors, and maintains network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
Plans, designs and develops local area networks and wide area networks.
Participates with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and security issues.
Administers the network utilizing one or more TCP/IP or non-TCP/IP networking protocols and/or one or more UNIX-based and Microsoft based operating systems.
Configure, install and maintain all routers, switches, firewall and VPN.
Implement and maintain security protocols (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems) to protect against cyber threats.
Use tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios to monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks.
Plans and executes network upgrades, patches and backups to ensure reliability and uptime.
Evaluates and/or recommends purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software; provides technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs.
Installs, configures, and maintains personal computers, networks, workstations, file servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures modems, disk drives, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers, and related equipment.
Maintains detailed network diagrams, configurations, and incident logs.
Works with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support network-related projects and integrations.
Provides technical support and training to end-users on network-related issues.
Provides support in-person, email, and telephone information services.
Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
Maintain network on a 24/7 basis.
Ensures networks comply with industry standards and organizational policies (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS where applicable).
Prepares or assists with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports; performs information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting, as specifically directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
