We are recruiting for this position on behalf of our client, the Florida Department of Transportation’s Office of Information Technology (OIT). We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the FDOT Infrastructure. The role involves managing, maintaining, and enhancing FDOT’s IT infrastructure, applications, data, and cloud services. This position requires handling tasks of medium to high complexity, delivering daily operations support, and providing technical leadership across multiple technology domains.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support, maintain, and expand FDOT’s IT infrastructure and cloud services.
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with internal teams and contractors.
- Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
- Monitor the security, availability, and performance of systems and applications.
- Evaluate network performance, handle installation/configuration/testing, and establish network policies/procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting, systems analysis, and performance tuning; escalate issues to vendors as needed.
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
- Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
- Manage and deploy solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Power Platform environments.
- Advise on building, hosting, and refactoring complex application solutions for performance, cost, and efficiency.
- Support other IT staff, including developers.
- Document and automate administrative tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — OR equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Candidates must demonstrate the following:
2–3 years experience with:
- Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022)
- IIS Administration
- Network communications, including TCP/IP, DNS, and NTFS permissions
- Microsoft Azure (strongly desired)
- Other cloud providers like AWS or GCP (highly desired)
- Administration of Microsoft software (highly desired)
3–5 years: IT infrastructure/network experience in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration; supporting middleware (API Management, IT Service Automation, batch job services)
5–8 years: Experience in information systems engineering or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and administration of Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Power Platform
- Proficiency in Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu), including patching
- Strong networking principles and cloud-based network architectures
- Experience with DevOps, git repositories, and automation tools
