Network Administrator Positions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sr. Network Administrator performs the following responsibilities at the experienced level:

• Administer, and manage network administration operations and maintenance for TekniPlex’s LAN, and WAN .
• Install, configure, optimize, and standardize network devices like firewalls, routers, switches, VPN solutions, and wireless access points.
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex network issues, including routing protocol issues, network connectivity problems and security breaches.
• Responsible for working with vendors to design and architect complex network solutions for large organizations, including LAN, WAN, IP Telephony, and data center networks.
• Lead network projects including hardware replacements and upgrades.
• Provide mentorship, training, and technical guidance to other network team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Works with vendors to ensure proper design of all network-related Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and testing.
• Provides level II incident and problem resolution within service level agreements for network hardware, software, and related peripherals as well as supported local and network-attached devices.
• Oversee the monitoring of system performance and configuration of system attributes to achieve optimal efficiencies and throughput.
• Maintain up to date and detailed documentation of network configurations, operations, and changes.
• Works with internal IT Security team and cybersecurity vendors to identify and implement established policies and ensure that Tekni-Plex’s network is secured.
• Responsible for working with vendors to ensure proper network capacity planning by monitoring system resource utilizations, analyzing trends, and making upgrade recommendations.
• Oversee the technology evaluation and selection processes of network solutions, ensuring compatibility between client requirements and technical performance. Documents analysis and recommendations.
• Works with IT Management to development of global policies and procedures as required and clearly communicates such developments to other data processing personnel.
• Participates in the development of standards and the application of said standards for the supported network environment across the enterprise.
• Responsible for service delivery and support, including configuration, incident, problem, and change management within Service Level Agreements.
• Demonstrates customer service attitude and work ethic.
• Travel required as needed – 25%

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7 + years of experience in network administration.
• Excellent Oral and written communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, SD-Wan and VPNs.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Meraki, FortiGate, and Solarwinds desired.
• Familiarity network traffic analysis tools (i.e. Wireshark).
• Experience with IPS, IDS, and SIEM integration systems.
• Proficiency in implementation of network segmentation/microsegmentation on prem and in the cloud.
• Experience in a fast-paced 24/7 global environment desired.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger and handle, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
