The System Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the company’s IT infrastructure. This role requires expertise in servers, networking, cloud, and security, as well as the ability to lead IT projects and ensure system reliability. The System Administrator partners closely with IT leadership to ensure system availability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, configure, and maintain servers, storage, and virtualization
• Administer core IT systems (Active Directory, Azure, M365, DNS/DHCP, backups, firewalls)
• Implement and manage security tools, policies, and compliance requirements
• Monitor performance, conduct capacity planning, and maintain disaster recovery systems
• Lead enterprise IT projects (migrations, cloud integrations, security initiatives)
• Research and recommend emerging technologies
• Maintain IT documentation and system policies
• Advise IT Director on technology strategy
• Mentor IT staff on advanced infrastructure practices
• 7+ years IT experience with infrastructure/system administration
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; advanced certifications (CCNA, MCSE, VCP, Azure/AWS, Security+) strongly desired
• Expert in Windows Server, networking, firewalls, VPNs, and security frameworks
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture principles and implementation
• Experience with virtualization, cloud platforms, and enterprise backup solutions
• Strong mentoring skills and ability to lead smaller projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management
• Proven ability to lead projects and implement enterprise solutions
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to Tiger Fuel locations as needed
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
