Job Summary
University Campus Computer Support has an immediate opening for an IT System Administrator. We are seeking a highly motivated upbeat, friendly, and approachable individual to work within a dynamic team to provide end user Windows and Mac support as well as assist with server services and application support of all managed systems. This position is an onsite position. Customer interaction and support must be provided in a timely professional manner. The incumbent must be a highly skilled IT professional who is knowledgeable in desktop and server computer configuration and support including operating system and application troubleshooting as well as network configuration and information flow. The incumbent must be detail oriented, adept at following processes, write documentation, be a team player, and work with others to train or be trained on unique systems. This position requires a continued learning effort for supporting new and old software and technology for different client needs.

Responsibilities
Computing needs assessment and consultation for hardware and software. Computer build and management, server installations, updates, patches, upgrades, and other configurations Server and system maintenance Active directory, group policies and preferences Specialized software maintenance and support Computer imaging or OS installations for both Windows and Apple systems. Troubleshoot, research, and resolve computer issues. Assist with network connectivity Proactive security and privacy management. Printer support, connectivity and trouble shooting. Tablet and/or smart phone configuration. Writing technical and how-to documentation and maintaining inventory documentation for all systems. File and share rights, permissions, allocation. Project planning, design, and completion. Position is required to be in an on-call rotation. Position requires travel on and off campus using personal vehicle for transporting equipment and when support issues arise. Assist in training other staff on systems, processes, and software. Expected to be available outside of normal business hours for client needs, or for server or desktop upgrades or updates which need to be completed outside of normal business hours. Other tasks and activities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
