The Information Technology Department is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the Core Technology Services team. This individual will build and support enterprise IT systems infrastructure and services across US Fertility’s multiple sites, data centers and cloud environments. This position will play a key role in facilitating the organization’s rapid growth by ensuring that new systems and technologies are selected and implemented in an optimal manner, and that existing systems are well-maintained.
We are currently seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to join our team. This position is remote, and the general schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, with the ability to work on-call as necessary.
How You'll Contribute:
We take a "whatever it takes" approach, even if it's outside the scope of our usual responsibilities. The Systems Administrator will generally be responsible for:
- Build and maintain systems infrastructure – including compute & storage
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the core technology systems infrastructure
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise – participate in root cause analysis and work to prevent future occurrences.
- Lead efforts to evaluate, test, and introduce new technologies and approaches
- Create detailed documentation of current and planned systems
- Monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
- Develop and maintain architecture requirements, evaluation of candidate cloud services, metrics, supporting documentation, and final reference architecture documents
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems on an on-call rotation basis
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities as needed
- Track issues and maintain adherence to existing change control and escalation processes
- Lead project efforts through full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, scoping, implementation, and operational handoff
- Provide input on architectural decisions made across the team
What You'll Bring:
- An Associate's, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in a technical field
- 3+ years of professional experience in large scale enterprise and/or hosted environments
- 2+ years of experience implementing and supporting fault tolerant, highly available systems solutions in a multi-tier environment
- 2+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator/Engineer role
- 2+ years of experience in administration and support of Microsoft Windows and Linux servers
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID
- 2+ years of prior experience working in a highly virtualized environment (HyperV, VMWare, Citrix)
- AWS and Azure hands-on engineering experience
- Demonstrated ability to automate tasks through standard IT scripting technologies on Windows and Linux (PowerShell, Perl, Python, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience with IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK
- Experience in a 24x7x365 data center and with cloud/SaaS technologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with collaborative team skills
- Ability to think critically and solve complex issues
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot networking and server issues using appropriate monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Experience working with classified information such as HIPAA, SOX, and financial data
- Able to work scheduled and on-call rotations (rotation will include weekends and holidays)
