Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Desktop Engineer to support our end users and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware environments, desktop hardware, and business application support, along with strong troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to end users for desktop systems, applications, and hardware.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based desktops, laptops, and related peripherals.
Support and administer virtual machines and desktops in a VMware environment.
Assist with deployment and maintenance of business-critical applications.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues efficiently, escalating as needed.
Maintain documentation of support processes, configurations, and known issues.
Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure optimal system performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in desktop support and system administration.
Strong troubleshooting skills with VMware (vSphere, Horizon, or similar).
Experience supporting Windows OS and Microsoft 365 applications.
Familiarity with desktop hardware setup and repair.
Ability to support a wide range of business applications.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred:
Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, VMware VCP, or Microsoft MCP are a plus.
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 per year salary
