DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - FULL TIME- 12 Month
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of all district computers systems and peripherals.
This includes but is not limited to computers, laptops, tablets, printers, IP phones, projectors, and document cameras.
This technician also must be prepared to meet deadlines, report to the Director on project status,
and make recommendations for hardware improvements/repairs.
Employee will also assist in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a technology field desired
A+/Network+ Certification
Demonstrated strong hands-on experience supporting servers running and clients running Windows 10/11
Experience with Windows Server 2019/2022
Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs
Experience installing software, patches, updates on desktops, laptops, and servers
Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, and printing problems
Such alternative qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

SALARY: Negotiable
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The Desktop Support Technician is a twelve-month employee who works the custodial calendar as adopted by the Board of Education.
Terms and conditions of employment and benefits are in accordance with the negotiated agreement.
EVALUATION: Job performance is evaluated annually by the Director of Technology.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software
Assist with the development and maintenance of standard desktop and laptop builds to be deployed throughout the school district.
Work effectively with vendor support contracts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
Ensure desktop computers successfully and persistently interconnect with file servers, mail server, and application servers.
Assists with the training and provides direction to all new district staff members.
Work with Technology Staff to purchase hardware and software.
Deliver, unpack, configure and install desktop, notebook, handheld, computer, and communications equipment.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems throughout the district. Ensure that user requests are resolved in a timely manner.
Install software as per district procedures and vendor licensing agreements.
Effectively use new and existing equipment and software.
Preview and evaluate new hardware and software.
Assist teachers, administrators, and support staff of appropriate use of district technologies.
Remain current on industry trends in information technology and investigate new technologies.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology and/or Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 50 lbs.
