We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician with hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) environments. This role provides technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals in a secure, high-availability setting. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and experienced with DoD systems, cybersecurity protocols, and compliance standards. This position requires an active Secret clearance or higher.
Responsibilities:
Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support for end-users, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop systems in accordance with DoD security requirements.
Support Microsoft Windows OS, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and common DoD applications (e.g., SIPR/NIPR systems, CAC authentication).
Assist with account creation, permission management, and security group administration in Active Directory.
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies (e.g., STIGs, RMF, DISA guidelines).
Support patch management, antivirus updates, and system hardening for endpoint security.
Coordinate with network, server, and cybersecurity teams to resolve system and connectivity issues.
Maintain inventory of IT equipment and assist with asset management.
Document support issues and resolutions in ticketing systems such as Remedy, ServiceNow, or similar.
