Job Summary
The IT System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, networks, and cloud-based servers. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, implementing security measures, managing user access, and ensuring optimal system performance to support business operations. In addition, the IT System Administrator will act as a key liaison with the company’s third-party managed service provider (MSP), coordinating support, escalating complex issues, and ensuring that external IT services align with organizational goals and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
LMA- Lead, Manage, Hold accountable
- Manage IT Technician team
Systems & Infrastructure Administration
- Manage and maintain Windows Server, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Oversee system backups, patching, and performance monitoring to ensure high availability.
- Administer cloud and on-premises infrastructure in collaboration with the managed service provider (MSP).
- Manage mobile device management platforms and mobile accounts.
- Manage Network-Attached Storage system (NAS)
End User Support
- Provide tier 2–3 support for office and field employees, escalating complex issues to MSP when necessary.
- Ensure timely resolution of IT service requests with strong customer service focus.
- Administer core business applications/platforms to include accounting software, sales software, etc.
- Manage automation, custom integrations, and API management
- Manage and administer VPN and remote access systems.
- Collaborating with third party MSP on infrastructure issues and upgrades
- Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
- Monitor network performance, usage, and capacity to ensure high availability.
- Research new technologies, products, software, and standards to recommend for implementation.
Network & Security Management
- Support and monitor network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, firewalls, VPN, wireless access).
- Implement and maintain endpoint protection, MFA, and access control policies.
- Assist with security audits, compliance checks, and incident response in partnership with MSP.
- Record service history and user interactions in a ticketing system.
Collaboration & Application Support
- Manage Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook).
- Manage and provide support for business systems (ERP, Sales Platform, MDM, etc.).
- Coordinate with vendors and MSP for upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Identify opportunities for process automation, efficiency improvements, and technology enhancements.

Qualifications and/or Experience Requirements
Education & Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3–5+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a professional environment.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Management experience (Required)
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 applications and administration.
- Strong understanding in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
- Experience with ticketing systems, remote desktop tools, and system imaging.
- Experience with ERP systems, database administration, and cloud-based solutions.
Systems & Infrastructure Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of IT systems, cloud computing environments, and cybersecurity principles.
- Familiarity with IT project management and ITIL best practices.
Certifications (Preferred)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and fumes or airborne particles.  This position typically operates in an office environment but may require occasional travel for meetings, events, and conferences.  Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours may be required during peak campaign periods or events.   The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
