We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team in a hands-on support role. This position will assist in maintaining and optimizing our internal systems, including both Linux and Windows server environments. Responsibilities include day-to-day support across hardware, software, networking, and user account management, as well as contributing to system security, monitoring, and backup processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, eager to learn, and excited to grow in a collaborative, fast-paced IT environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
Support Linux server environment.
Monitor system logs for security breaches and unauthorized access.
Perform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Assist in managing and troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Help maintain network security protocols and access controls.
Collaborate with senior administrators to optimize network performance and reliability.
Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
Assist in setting up and configuring user accounts, email, and access permissions.
Collaborate with the IT helpdesk to resolve user issues in a timely manner.
Assist in implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Perform routine data backups and ensure data integrity.
Participate in disaster recovery drills and testing.
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Prepare reports on system performance and incident resolutions.
Assist in implementing and enforcing security policies and protocols.
Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement technology solutions that support business objectives.
Assist in evaluating and recommending IT hardware and software purchases.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proficient with Linux and Windows operating systems
Strong understanding of computer systems, networking, and IT infrastructure.
Basic knowledge of Hyper-V virtualization technology.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a team and independently.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Any relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Associate) is a plus.
