JOB TITLE: Network Administrator
REPORTS TO: Technology Services Administrator
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To oversee and maintain the SUSD Server and Application Software Systems and backup of Server Duties for the Server Administrator, and collaborate with one another and make recommendations to the Technology Services Administrator.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains network and infrastructure hardware system operations for the SUSD technology network environment. The responsibility of the District's systems to perform and operate at maximum performance and to also follow and meet industry standards.
- Implements, maintains, and manages network operations and hardware systems and ensures the network systems are up and always running.
- Installs, configures, upgrades, and patches, all network hardware and IOS applications for the District to maintain security and IOS updates as needed for District network infrastructure.
- Serves as a lead advisor for the technology department and works in conjunction with the Technology Services Administrator to plan for system changes, upgrades, patches, or needs for network operational performance.
- Maintains current backups of all network equipment and systems that require data backups which we are responsible for on premise.
- Diagnose and resolve network-related hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
- Make a recommendation of network-related hardware and software upgrades needed and migrations to upgrade equipment.
- Researches, recommends, maintains and manages infrastructure to all network equipment.
- Creates and documents and updates all network infrastructure and licensing documentation. Develop, document, analyze, create, test and modify District used systems.
- Attention to detail, focus on the deployment of products, provide excellent customer service and schedule product updates during off hours.
- Manages overall technical notification to field technicians and team to support them with the changes and fixes completed.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the field of network support and technology by attending training and workshops.
- Effectively communicate technical information to staff in a positive manner.
- Network Administrator as an advisor for Server Administrator and Field Technicians.
- Work on trouble tickets to provide excellent customer service and support the Field Technician.
- Spend time with the Server Administrator to learn and be able to maintain systems when the Server Administrator is not available or on vacation for the District.
- Provide documentation and training to the Server Administrator of your role for maintaining high level systems. This means any system that would cause the entire system to be offline, or a school campus offline.
- Performs other tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor.
