Job Description

  • Provide daily O&M support for classified and unclassified network infrastructure.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network switches, routers, and associated devices.
  • Monitor and manage network performance, availability, and capacity, ensuring compliance with Army Information Technology Portfolio (AITP) service standards.
  • Implement security configurations in accordance with DISA STIGs and Army RMF requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with IAVM directives by applying patches, updates, and security hardening procedures.
  • Enforce DoD and Army cybersecurity policies.
  • Ensure proper implementation of security controls, including VLAN segmentation, encryption, and access control policies.
  • Conduct periodic network vulnerability scans and assessments in coordination with the cyber team.
  • Support the implementation of ACAS, HBSS, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Diagnose network connectivity issues, VLAN misconfigurations, and routing inefficiencies.
  • Perform log analysis, bandwidth monitoring, and network performance tuning using network management tools.
  • Support network infrastructure upgrades and migrations, including software/firmware updates for routers and switches.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to local users on network functionality, security best practices, and access control procedures.
  • Assist in resolving user-reported network issues and escalating incidents when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain network policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Ensure all network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps are properly documented in ticketing and configuration management systems.
  • Assist with compliance audits and reviews to validate adherence to Army IT security policies.

Qualifications

1+ years experience in a network administration and management in a multi-platform enterprise environment.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.  Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with IAT Level II).  Must hold a Cisco certification (e.g. CCNA) or be able to obtain within six months of start date.  Proficient in network communications hardware/software and security implementations.  Experience with troubleshooting network infrastructure and managing performance in compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.  Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper network devices in a large-scale enterprise setting.  Familiar with network security enforcement and remediation.  Able to support users through training and operational guidance on network usage and troubleshooting.  Experience with DoD IT environments and network security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and DISA STIG compliance preferred.  Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties.  Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
