Core4ce is looking for a Network Administrator II to join the team. The Network Administrator will provide on-site local LAN Support for PEO MS/CIO, J-S, and MHS IT support system components. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing and monitoring local area networks (LAN) as well as troubleshooting experience with core and edge switches. The candidate will ensure that all network equipment complies with industry and corporate standards as well as conduct routine preventative measures and implement and maintain network security and ensure security compliance. This role will be responsible for the planning and implementation of future IT development projects.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and sustain new or existing information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks
- Administers day-to-day sustainment, integrity, security and availability of the network
- Perform daily performance monitoring, capacity analysis, and maintain security posture of the network
- Configures network hardware and software infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, and virtual devices in VMware
- Assist architecture and engineering with evaluation, making recommendations and testing of network hardware and software products
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, installations, and changes
- Performs network infrastructure maintenance upgrades to ensure a proper
- Security and operational posture are maintained
- Provide necessary on-site IT support or system administration for all servers, network equipment, operating systems, and applications on the supported networks
- Troubleshooting core and edge switches
- Planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified network hardware and systems
Requirements
- National Agency Check (NAC)/ Tier 1 or position of trust suitability in support of your primary duty assignment onsite.
- (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Certification requirements to meet IAT II, Security+ and Computing Environment
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of firewalls, routers, switches, and other network technologies including Palo Alto and Cisco Firewalls
- Experience with LAN/WAN, VPN, IPS and associated technologies
- Experience with core and edge switching
- Experience with TCPDump, Wireshark and analyzing network traffic.
- Understanding of essential network services such as DNS, SMTP, NTP, IMAP, and SNM.
- Network Administration: Deploy, upgrade, and support enterprise and facility network infrastructure.
- Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize tools such as Wireshark, TCPDump, and other network traffic analyzers.
