Job Title: Senior Network Administrator

Location: BUMED HQ (DHHQ Facility), 7700 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22042

Description: CORTEK is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to provide Network Operations (NetOps) support for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) Headquarters. The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and security of all virtual network components and appliances. This role requires an expert-level understanding of network architecture and security policies within a DoD environment to ensure optimal performance and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level Network Operations (NetOps) support, including maintenance and configuration of the external security stack, routers, switches, hubs, and firewalls.
  • Manage and coordinate all network requirements and changes to the Med-COI zone architecture via Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) requests.
  • Ensure local site resources are Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliant and manage changes through a local Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Continually assess, reconfigure, and/or deploy systems to optimize performance and accommodate changes to network architecture or security policies.
  • Provide local Tier 1 on-site support for Local Core Infrastructure (LCI).
  • Assist the local Information System Security Officer/Manager (ISSO/ISSM) with documentation and implementation to support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) ATO process.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and Authorized Scheduled Interruptions (ASI) with the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
  • Maintain operational reliability near 100% for all network equipment.

Job Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Ten (10) years of work experience and a mastery level in production network technologies.

Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

  • Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT-III certification requirements.
  • Extensive experience with network administration in a DoD environment, including hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Deep understanding of DoD network security, STIGs, and the RMF process.

Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a minimum of an active Secret security clearance.
