Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior job experience as a Microsoft Services Administrator preferred
- MCSA certifications related to Windows Server and Windows 11 preferred
- Additional consideration will be given to those holding certification in any or all of these areas: A+, Network+, Server+, MTA, Security+
- Willingness to work outside the regular schedule when needed and be on call as necessary
- Experience with VMware/ESXI Systems
- Familiar with Microsoft networks, Active Directory, and standard protocols including DNS, DHCP, DFS, NPS, Group Policies, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Eagerness to learn and teach new skills and concepts
Responsibilities:
- Maintain all district Servers and Services including Microsoft Server, Windows 11, MSSQL, Linux, Apache, VSphere, and other software services
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot software products, security patches, updates, and maintenance
- Supplement support for VOIP Communication, Safety, and Security services as required
- Aid in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery planning, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, help desk tickets, and/or e-mails regarding system problems, or general tech support when needed
- Document instances of failure, repair, installation, and removal of hardware
- Work with building-level support to communicate new changes, additions and removals of software and technology
- Conduct research as assigned and make recommendations for services in support of procurement and development efforts
- Troubleshoot and resolve service issues at all levels from server to desktop of all supported services
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software and license contracts and supervise contract-based installations
- If necessary, interact with third-party support and software vendors
- Recommend, schedule, and perform hardware and software improvements, upgrades, and repairs
- Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future corporate technology needs
- Maintain and support the district’s printer fleet and PaperCut Management System, ensuring efficient printing operations, cost control, and user access management.
- Communicate in an effective, appropriate, and timely manner
- Task assignments for this position are made by the Director of Information Systems according to the corporation’s specific needs. The Director of Information Systems may have additional input in identifying other preferred qualifications and/or appropriate duties that may exceed those described above.
- Maintain and manage surplus equipment lists and ensure the proper removal of decommissioned hardware from district inventory in accordance with policy.
- Follow other directives from the Director of Information Systems, and/or the Superintendent that serve to improve services to the students
- Provide a positive customer service oriented level of support for district technology users
- Communicates regularly with the Director of Information Systems and district administration regarding reporting timelines and requirements
Hours: This is a full-time, year-round position.
