Job Summary:

The System Administrator supports the Joint Command Language Program Manager Database Sustainment and Modernization efforts. Responsibilities include IT system administration, network monitoring, server maintenance, systems disaster recovery planning and execution, backup and software patch updates, system security, on-call service supports, management/configuration of storage/access/delivery capabilities, contingency planning, and reporting. Uses software tools to identify and diagnose complex network and server problems affecting JCD performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans, designs, installs and maintains IT equipment supporting the JCD.
  • Tests and analyzes all elements of the network facilities including power, software, security features, communications devices, lines, modems and terminals, and overall integrated network
  • Documents the design and security to support the continued ATO to include policies and procedures
  • Interacts with Project Manager, Developers and Help Desk personnel to identify and resolve issues
  • Collaborates with teammates and stakeholders regarding system upgrades, patches, software updates and system modernization.
  • Monitors and controls the performance of JCD IT resources
  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
  • Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Update technical configuration documents, manage the system lifecycle, support technical review boards as needed, and participate in technical design reviews as needed.
  • Create, test, and maintain test, development and production environments; implement established technical and workflow procedures, troubleshoot network and application
  • Perform review of RMF policies, system additions and/or enhancements
  • Assist in JCD Hep Desk responsibilities as required
  • Assist in JCD Cyber Security and System Accredition efforts as required
  • Assist in other JCD program requirements as necessary.
