Position Overview
In support of the OSC Technical Solutions IT Infrastructure organization for the Hanford Site, this position will be part of a team responsible for supporting the technical infrastructure that includes hardware, software, and cloud service provider components. This role will serve as a pivotal resource, driving implementation, and design services for other areas of the organization and its customers.
Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)
- Map the relationship between IT platform/Infrastructure components (i.e. Technology End Users, IT System Software & Hardware and info-Communications Transmission Networks).
- Identify key technology interactions and dependencies across systems/platforms.
- Investigate and analyze problems to identify root causes and ensure timely resolution.
- Design and implement system monitoring and performance optimization solution.
- Design, implement, and maintain backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Design documentation configuration baselining of systems, testing or modification of IT infrastructure.
- Evaluate new solutions through research and collaboration and determine course of action for new technical initiatives.
- Responsible for incident escalation and coordination of resources to resolve issues in a timely manner to meet Service Level Agreement metrics.
- Support Disaster Recovery/Continuity of Operations (DR/COOP) exercises, testing and live incidents per procedures and policies.
- Maintain security and integrity controls.
- Prepare written technical documentation, training material, standards, and reports.
- Evaluate and recommend procurements of Windows or Appliance based hardware and software.
- Evaluate total cost of ownership and return on investment of various IT platform/infrastructure alternatives.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.

Physical Abilities
- Sufficient fine motor skills for the use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
- Visual and communications ability adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
- Ability to reach below shoulder height with regular frequency (desk position) and at or above shoulder height on occasion.
- Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.
- Ability to travel by vehicle or aircraft, and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree with 5-8 years of Information Technology experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
- Must have identification compliant with the Real ID Act at time of hire.
- Must be able to obtain Department of Energy access badge. 
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. 
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge with Active Directory, ADFS, Group Policy Management
- Knowledge of the AZURE ecosystem
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles
 
Pay Range: $82,912.00 - $146,200.00/ yearly
