Network Administrator Positions

WAGE RANGE: $60K-$100K

JOB SUMMARY

The Network Administrator assists in designing and delivering a robust and redundant network to support business and vendor applications. They understand and can implement Ethernet switching and IP routing, and maintain clear documentation. They are advanced problem solvers with experience troubleshooting network issues.  They are experienced at identifying and solving issues logically and methodically.  They work closely with the helpdesk and application teams to deliver critical business IT systems.

 

               

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Collaborate with Network Engineer to design and deliver redundant and robust networks.
  2. Install and maintain network devices.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
  4. Monitor network performance.
  5. Backup network configurations.
  6. Configure server networking for optimal performance.
  7. Configure and troubleshoot network services.
  8. Document network design and configurations.
  9. Work closely with the helpdesk and systems teams to install, maintain, and troubleshoot critical business IT systems.
  10. Other related duties as assigned.

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS:

  1. Access and System Logs, User Credentials
  2. Controlled MIS areas
  3. Secured areas within established access procedures

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, OR Associate’s degree in information technology or related field and two (2) years of IT experience, OR three (3) years directly applicable experience.
  2. Strong organizational skills, including effectively working with different vendors, business units, teams, or hierarchies, and managing simultaneous and competing responsibilities.
  3. Understanding of network design, with experience and knowledge of best practices in planning networks to support application, backup, and storage systems that meet given requirements.
  4. Understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP, with experience configuring and troubleshooting in switched and routed networks.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.
  6. Experience installing, configuring, and/or troubleshooting common network services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, RADIUS, and syslog.
  7. Understanding of advanced network concepts and services, including but not limited to, spanning tree protocol, VLANs and trunks, first-hop redundancy protocols, routing protocols (including EIGRP and OSPF), network address translation, and access control lists.
  8. Understanding of network device best practices, including limiting access to necessary teams and roles, minimizing unpredictable behavior, turning off unnecessary services and features, and tuning configurations for optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  9. Understanding of power best practices, especially, but not limited to, distributed and redundant power systems in data centers and wiring closets.
  10. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Must  obtain within six months of hire.
  11. Requires a High-Security Gaming license.
  12. Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Python, Powershell, or other similar scripting experience.
