Job Description
We are seeking a Network Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of our network infrastructure. This position is designed for a technically skilled individual ready to take the next step in their networking career. You’ll assist with configurations, monitoring, and maintenance tasks under the guidance of experienced Network Specialists and Network Architects, following documented Method of Procedures (MOPs) to implement network changes safely and efficiently.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Network Maintenance & Monitoring
- Assist with daily network operations and performance monitoring.
- Monitor network traffic and usage to ensure efficiency, and report deficiencies to senior network team members.
Network Configuration & Implementation
- Configure network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points) for customer deployments.
- Perform configurations for implementation of routine devices within the organizational network.
Security & Compliance
- Monitor for cybersecurity threats and report findings to senior network team members.
- Ensure organizational security requirements and policies are properly followed.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Diagnose and resolve basic Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues.
- Work with senior network team members to perform hands-on troubleshooting at customer or off-premise locations.
- Collaborate with installers, central office technicians, IT department, and senior network staff to implement customer networks.
User Support & Access Management
- Assist employees and customers with network access issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication systems.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
The Preferred Candidate Will Possess:
- Education: An associate degree in Computer Science, Networking, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in networking or equivalent experience in a central office or network operations environment.
- Additional Skills: Experience with VoIP systems or SIP-based technologies is a strong plus.
