Role: This position is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of the organization and ensuring maximum uptime of network connectivity for users. Other responsibilities for the role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. This role will also provide 3rd level support to staff and the IT department to ensure efficient operations. A can-do attitude, deep knowledge of networks and a natural ability to drive towards results will be key to success in this role. Part of a 24 / 7 on-call rotation every few weeks.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Administration and maintenance of network systems.
- Administer network equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls.
- Administer the storage environment.
- Assist with network security equipment.
- Apply updates, hotfixes and patching of network equipment and infrastructure as needed
- Engage in projects, as needed, to facilitate network connectivity.
- Work on assigned infrastructure projects with guidance from management
- Provide updates to management on projects and ticket status.
- Troubleshoot network system issues.
- Work independently on assigned 3rd level help ticket to meet SLA agreement with staff
- Troubleshoot and correct network system errors or issues.
- Ensure high availability and recovery of mission critical systems.
- Monitor all network equipment to ensure high availability and peak performance of critical network systems.
- Ensure and validate backups of network systems in case recovery is needed.
- Research, design and implement new network systems.
- Research new network technology to enhance network infrastructure with supervision.
- Work closely with designing and implementation of new network systems.
- Provisioning of servers in the VMWare environment
- Configure and monitor backup systems

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses
- Minimum high School degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3 to 4 years network infrastructure, datacenters, wide/local area
Demonstrated Knowledge
- Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies and network services
- Experience working with Firewalls, Routers and Switches
- Experience working with VMWare
- SAN management to including monitoring operations and performance as well as assignment of storage allocation
- Experience working with Backup Appliances
- Experience working with deployment and security technology such as: PDQ, CrowdStrike Falcon, Armis, Rapid7
- Project management skills such as prioritizing tasks and work in accordance with Blaze policies and procedures Disaster recovery and business continuity plans a plus
- Ability to:
- Grasp complex tasks and processes and chart the best course of action
- Communicate clearly with Blaze staff and outside venders
- Troubleshoot problems and develop solutions with a degree of creativity
- Maintain confidentiality of information stored on the network
- Be part of an on-call rotation assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues after-hours, weekends, and holidays
- Analyze and learn new technologies quickly

The salary range for this position is: $76,635.60-$90,000. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
